HIGH SCHOOL SOCCERI had to get back to some sports photography after a slow hot summer. I covered some girls soccer at Arbor View, they were playing Pahrump Valley High. I shot both the Varsity and JV games. I realized that this was the first time I shot a girls high school soccer game. I knew the girls were pretty tough out there....but they were actually a lot more aggressive than I thought they would be. Made for some good action. Pahrump won the varsity game 2-0, you might even call it an upset. Arbor View dominated in the JV game.
SATURDAY B-BALLI covered some great games today for the NJB. All the games were going down to the last few seconds. All the kids need to hold their heads up.....no losers today.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS.....BASKETBALLI don't know what it this year but I'm having some fun shooting basketball this year. Indoor sports are usually tough because of the lower lights, but I think I found some settings that are working. I may go get in a few more games this weekend.
ALL NET BASKETBALLI went back out to photograph some more basketball with the NJB. This was their ALL NET divisions. I stayed for two games. I think the next game I will pull out the 50mm lens to get a little wider under the basket. The NJB really runs a nice program for the kids a few times a year. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a league to play in.
NJB OPENING DAYIt was opening day for the NJB basketball league so I went over to shoot a couple of games. Basketball is one of those sports where you have to get your timing down. I was doing better by the third game....next week will be on point. Its the top of the jump shop that's tough to get.
